Aluminum Oxide Flap Disc
|
Flap Discs are an essential tool for right angle, metal grinding applications and can be used in place of both grinding wheels and resin fiber discs. Legacy Abrasives' Flap Discs are manufactured in the USA using premium grade materials including fiberglass backing plates for strength and vibration absorption. Legacy Abrasives' Flap Discs have 16% more flaps than the competitor brand; as a result, they last longer saving time and money.

Zirconia Flap Disc
|
Legacy Abrasives offers Flap Discs in multiple material types, including Aluminum Oxide, Zirconia and Ceramic. An Aluminum Oxide disc is used for general purpose grinding and stock removal. A Zirconia disc works well on stainless steel, hard steel, and titanium and continually produces new sharp points; creating faster cutting action and providing a longer life-span than the aluminum oxide varieties. A Ceramic Flap Disc with a grinding aid is another self-sharpening type of material that is longer lasting than Zirconia. Ceramic discs are typically used for aerospace alloys, aluminum, carbon steels, stainless steel, heat-sensitive materials and more.

A Type 27 Flap Disc is a flat flap disc that works well for finishing or blending applications. Normally operated at a 0° to 15° angle. To quickly remove material or handle curves and contours, a Type 29 Flap Disc provides an angled shape for maximum surface contact, which is perfect a more aggressive material removal. Normally operated at a 15° to 25° angle. |
